Our project:

As the COVID-19 pandemic wiped happiness out of this world, we asked 15 students to write a short story influenced by the contemporary moment. We were inspired by the New York Times' Decameron Project. The original Decameron, written by Giovanni Boccaccio, has also been called the Umana Comedia, providing inspiration for our title. Like the plague ravaging Europe in the 14th century, our class was contaminated, but with a beneficial virus: literature.

All of the artwork, design, layout, and stories were created by the Sophomore Advanced English class at Massillon School in Paris, France.

All of the work was produced in 2021.
